Enhancements in API Version 2: Introducing Regions
In version 2 of our API, we've made a significant enhancement by introducing the concept of regions.
Our service provides wheel data on a global scale. Previously, customers often requested the ability to display data specific to car brands sold in their particular country or region. Unfortunately, this wasn't possible with our initial setup.
We originally used the term “market” to describe regions where cars were officially sold. However, "market" in our context referred to regions where wheel data could vary for the same car model. Consequently, we created individual records only for car brands with wheel data differing across regions.
For example, if Tesla is sold in Europe through a dealer network, we didn't create separate markets because the wheel data for Tesla remains consistent between America and Europe. Conversely, the Toyota Corolla has different wheel specifications in America, Europe, and Russia, so we created individual records for each of these regions.
With API version 2, we've adopted the concept of regions, which effectively serve as the “real” markets. A region now represents where a vehicle was or is being officially sold. We verify the wheel data for each car model and modification for sale in each specific country or region.
The updated API allows you to use filters to display only the cars, models, or modifications relevant to your needs. Moreover, you can select multiple regions when filtering. For instance, if your primary market is Canada, you might also include the US market in your filters for a comprehensive view.
